Supporting the area we work in matters to us. Our community sponsorship in Paraparaumu includes Golf for Good, Food Bank fundraising and Challenge for Change, along with local sponsorship for nearby businesses and plumbing apprenticeship opportunities.
Golf for Good
Supporting the local area matters to us. We are a major sponsor of Golf for Good at Mazengarb Park, contributing more than £10,000 in sponsorship plus around £10,000 in free plumbing work. This includes an additional public toilet facility, helping make the miniature golf experience even better for everyone who visits.
Kapiti Run For Youth
The Run for Youth is an annual event run by Web Genius to raise funds for a range of organisations working with young people on the Kapiti Coast. Peter Jackson Plumbing has sponsored the event since its inception in 2011. We also put together a team each year to take part in the sponsored 6km walk or run or 12km walk or run.
Movember
In 2023, the Peter Jackson Plumbing team decided to take part in Movember - an annual event where men grow moustaches during the month of November. The event is run to raise awareness of men's health issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention.
We raised a total of $4010, and Marcus was awarded the best "wild one" look by Master Plumbers.
Paraparaumu and Waikanae golf clubs
We've been sponsoring Paraparaumu Golf Club for 25 years and also support Waikanae Golf Club. Members of both clubs receive a discount when booking charge-up jobs with us.
Grey Power

We work with the Kapiti branch of Grey Power - an advocacy organisation for older people in New Zealand - to provide a 10% discount for members on charge-up jobs.

Challenge for Change
Challenge for Change is a mentoring programme for 9 to 13-year-olds facing difficulties and challenges and their whanau.
The young people are matched with a local volunteer mentor who meets with them a couple of times a week. Their whanau attend an 8-week parenting course to support them during the journey. Monthly group events for all the young people, their whanau and their mentors are organised.
Peter Jackson Plumbing helps to support the programme financially and Peter has also acted as a mentor.
Gateway programmes for senior students
Gateway funding helps students in Years 12 and 13 access workplace-based learning and develop a path into a career while studying for NCEA. The learning is structured and includes regular assessments.
Peter Jackson Plumbing works with both Paraparaumu College and Kapiti College to help them facilitate Gateway programmes.
Working with other local businesses
We love to keep things local. So, we work closely with other local tradies and businesses to build a network of trusted Kapiti-based businesses that we can recommend to customers.
We're also part of Amotai, an organisation that connects Māori and Pasifika-owned businesses with commercial buyers and organisations like local councils and government agencies wishing to support diverse businesses.
